Liuotintulostin suurkuvien volyymituotantoon. EJ-640 on 1,6 m leveä tulostin joka tulostaa jopa 102 neliömetriä tunnissa. Tällä koneella suuretkin keikat sujuvat joutuisasti.
Vaikuttava tulostusnopeus ja -tarkkuus
Tulostimessa on kaksi tulostuspäätä joissaon kahdeksan värikanavaa ja 180 suutinta per kanava. Tulostuspäät on asemoitu limittäin jolloin yhdellä ajolla saadaan leveämpi tulostusala. Päiden pisaranmuodostus on peilattu toisiinsa nähden, jolla raidoituksen mahdollisuus on saatu vähenemään entisestään.
Luja rakenne – vakaa ja pitkäikäinen
Koneen runko on jämäkkä joten se pysyy vakaana suurissakin tuotantonopeuksissa. Tulostettavan rullan paino voi olla jopa 40 kg ja sen voi kerätä suoraan rullalle edessä olevan Take Up Unitin avulla.
Uudet musteet
Uuden tulostimen kansa Roland esitteli myös uuden musteen jossa on jälleen parannettu kaikkia ominaisuuksia. Muste on kehitetty erityisesti EJ-640:lle ja se toimitetaan litran kaseteissa. Mustekonfiguraatio voi olla joko tupla CMYK tai CMYKLcLmLk joka parantaa väriavaruutta ja väriliukujen tasaisuutta.
Tehokas kuivaus – tehokas tuotanto
Koneessa on esilämmitin parantamassa materiaalin vastaanottavuutta, tulostuslämmitin nopeuttamassa musteen tarttumista ja parantamassa kirkkautta sekä pitkä jälkikuivain nopeuttamassa kuivumista ja vähetämässä naarmuherkkyyttä. Lisäksi koneessa on puhaltava kuivain joka parantaa suurtuotannon kuivumista ja värien kirkkautta.
